Milford's chef-driven pizzeria and bar, built to take every order

Novella's Pizzeria & Bar is a chef-driven pizzeria and bar at 426 N. Main Street in downtown Milford, Michigan: a scratch kitchen serving hand-tossed and Detroit-style pizza, salads and calzones, with a full bar, cocktails and beer on tap. I built their website in 2024. Owner Brandon Davis also runs Presley's Kitchen + Bar in Detroit, and I build and look after both sites.

Every order is two taps away

A restaurant site has one job: get a hungry person from "where should we eat" to an order or a table with as little hunting as possible. Every page on Novella's carries the same short row of actions in the menu bar: Order Pickup, Order Delivery, Reservations and Gift Cards. Each one goes straight to the service the restaurant already runs (Toast for pickup and gift cards, DoorDash for delivery, OpenTable for tables), so there is nothing new for the staff to manage.

A menu Google and phones can read

The menu is real text on the page, grouped by pizza style, with the PDF still there for anyone who wants to print it. Nobody has to pinch and zoom a scanned page on a phone, Google can read every dish, and a price change is an edit rather than a new PDF.

The rest of the business, not just dinner

The site also carries the parts of a restaurant that bring in money between dinner rushes: a catering page with a downloadable catering menu for parties and office lunches, a specials page, a hiring page for new staff, an email sign-up for offers, and a reviews page.
